Re: Chords with tied notes/different durations.

I'm sorry you think it's onerous to press [alt]2 while inputting your notes. However, most musicians manage to do so with minimal interruption to their workflow.
Read the manual about using voices for further information.

Re: Restoring an Overwritten File in Sibelius - Urgent Help Needed

I'm not sure if this advice is kosher, but I vaguely remember thatvthe macos can redirect saves to the cloud. I have a niggling feeling that doing this causes sib's backup not to create new numbered backups, but to overwrite the last one. I think this was mentioned a long while ago on the official f...

Re: Restoring an Overwritten File in Sibelius - Urgent Help Needed

There's a setting (I think it was there in sib 8.x) to allow you to set up where your backup folder is on your machine. It's under File-->saving and exporting(Ithink). It shows the currently set file paths for backing up, saving and exporting files. If you have made any alterations to these paths, t...

Re: Restoring an Overwritten File in Sibelius - Urgent Help Needed

Ok. Sorry for the bad news but you're screwed. The only time you get a copy in the backup folder is when you save the file. If, as I assume, you are relying on sib's version of autosave to save backups, you are going to be very disappointed. There is no substitute for pressing [ctrl/cmd]a every few ...

Re: Can't save score getting "Check sum error"

According to your profile you are using Sib 7.1.3 on the very latest MacOS. I'm utterly amazed that you got it to work at all. It was several iterations ago that apple caused sibelius to stop working with any version of its os. Only sib 2023.x and later will work with Sonoma. Options? Update to Sib ...

Re: EXPORTING MY SIBELIUS FILE TO A OLDER VERSION OF SIBELIUS

Before you send the file to someone, look on the File--> About page. It should state the full exact version of your sibelius.

Re: Hand claps echo

I would never recommend having a tuned (piano) and untuned (hand claps) instrument on the same staff. It gives you less control.
Having said that, there is no guarantee that it can be altered. Sometimes the samples are the samples...

Re: Hand claps echo

You could try altering reverb and/or chorus in the mixer.

Re: Standard repeats WITHIN winged repeats - possible?!

In short, no. However, I believe more flexibility is being built in to sibelius ' bar lines - at least according to Justin Tokke on the official forum.

Not a clue on a time scale.

Re: General question

What you can't do is use your existing credentials to register it. There's a procedure that you have to follow, and you'll likely have to use compatibility mode.

Re: instruments dropping out when exporting

Ok. That's good. Can you screenshot the playback devices list and the audio engine options dialogs, please.
Did anything change before this started happening (updated programs or drivers etc). Is this recent change or has it always done this since you updated to 2024.3.1

Re: General question

You are wrong on two counts: 1. Sib 6 generally runs quite well under windows 11. However it will not run at all under later MacOS versions. 2. It is still possible to update your support plans to the latest version through a reseller such as Sweet water (in the US) https://www.avid.com/find-a-resel...

Re: notes not played

There is a HUGE difference between a tie and a slur. A tie connects two notes of the same pitch, across a beat or a barline. A slur instructs the player to play smoothly (legato) whatever is under the line. A slur can be left hanging without much of a problem. A tie cannot. It must be connected to a...
